Second opportunity to provide input to research and innovation agenda: Unleashing the power of secondary materials: A strategic research and innovation agenda for effective material recycling from ELV, WEEE and plastic packaging waste

During the period April 3rd to April 24th we are inviting NEW InnoNet stakeholders to contribute to the strategic research and innovation agenda that will be delivered to the Commission in summer 2017.

The strategic innovation and research agenda aims to influence EU policy-making in research and innovation of studied value chains (vehicles, electronics and plastic packaging). The current draft is based on the previous work performed within the NEW InnoNet project with input from several different actors from industry, organisations and academia and a first round of stakeholder feedback in January-February this year. We hope that you are interested in contributing and thus influencing the agenda delivered to the target group of EU policymakers.

You can contribute in different ways:

  1. Comment and complement the R&I actions in the agenda. Comment or complement the text already provided for suggested R&I actions in the draft by adding comments or by introducing text with track changes.
  2. Add R&I actions if you see that some are missing. For this we need a full description of the R&A action(s) in the same format as the actions in the agenda draft (including type of action, expected impact, time frame, challenges and needs addressed, and waste streams addressed).
  3. Give feedback on the structure and readability of the agenda. Comment or complement the text in the draft by adding comments or by introducing text with track changes.
  4. Provide feedback on full text. Add any other comments you may have on the overall agenda text in the agenda Word-file.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if this instruction is unclear or if you have any other questions!

NEW InnoNet is a Horizon 2020-project aiming to contribute to closing the loops especially focusing on the value chains of vehicles, electronics and plastic packaging.

One of the major project deliverables is a strategic research and innovation agenda, with the aim to strengthen European industry in taking the lead for a more material effective future by preserving the material values recovered from waste electric and electronic equipment (WEEE), end of life vehicles (ELV) and plastic packaging waste (PPW).

To pinpoint the most needed research and innovation actions industry actors throughout the value chains are contributing and we hope that you want to share your experiences and views. The strategic research and innovation agenda is a major output of the NEW InnoNet project and aims to influence EU policy-making in research and innovation of studied value chains. The target groups of the agenda are policy makers on EU and also national levels.

NEW InnoNet provides a stakeholder platform for organizations involved in the project and interested in the field. If you are not already a registered member you are invited to register at http://www.newinnonet.eu/RegistrationForm.aspx
